Don’t we love just 2018 already? Looks like we would be having more travel influencers this year *smiles*. British couple, Faye and Matthew Gooding, have made the toughest decision to sell their possessions so they can “globe-trot” with their five young sons!
We didn’t plan it but today we ended up buying our Christmas tree! So early I know, but it’s our last Christmas in this house and after asking the boys how they wanted to celebrate our final viewing before our sale goes through 🤞🏼 this is how they wanted to celebrate 🎄 So we decorated the tree and watched jingle all the way in a tidy house 😆 bliss. Thanks for the early Christmas present @hariandthegang #mytribe #christmastree #christmas #feelingfestive #familychristmasjumpers #christmasjumpers
The Goodings are a very interesting family. The couple are both mortgage brokers; yes they help others find their dream homes. Conversely, they have rather sold theirs! The 4-bedroom lavish home, situated in a peaceful village near Lincoln, is no longer theirs. In fact, according to Faye on her recently started blog, the family has moved house 9 times in 13 years! Unbelievable right? Faye and Matthew have also sold most of their material belongings, all to start a new life- travelling the world.
Some friends and family think Matt and I are mad to be giving up so much.
“It’s been incredibly difficult getting rid of so many possessions – Christmas was strange as we didn’t exchange lots of presents as we usually do”, says Faye in an interview with DailyMail UK. Looks like giving up their home was very hard for the couple to do. ‘Selling our house, which we’ve completely refurbished over the past couple of years, is sad’, disclosed Faye. They are selling their Ford Galaxy too and several other properties. What makes this big decision seem even more bizarre, is that they have five young sons!
Day10 and we have finally caught these cheeky elves and it’s snowing ❄️☃️🌬amidst the boys running outdoors to play in the snow we will be having a chilled out Sunday… I say chilled but we still have the attic to empty and it looks like the solicitors on our house sale are moving faster than we thought #family #pjday #christmaspjs #sunday
With the oldest of the children being only 9, Matt and Faye also decided to have them quit school! Pretty sure the boys would be excited about this, Lol. Since September last year, the boys have been getting educated at home. Sounds like Faye is a real super mum, having to care for baby twins and home-school three older kids. Amazing! She writes extensively about this in an article on her blog, Motheroffive.
The birth of the twins inspired this…
Faye admits that the pregnancy of the twins came as a shock. ‘Yet rather than enjoying spending time with the boys, I found myself cleaning the house all day. The older ones were at school and I thought, “I hardly see them”, says Mrs Gooding.
Hence, she spoke to Matt about how she felt and coincidentally he shared the same views. They both agreed their lives were too materialistic and scheduled, so they made efforts to enable them spend more time with their children…and here we are today.
“The older boys will plot where we go next but we hope to see Europe and over two years travel as far as Japan, America, Bali and Thailand. While they won’t go to school, Faye and I feel they will learn more than ever on our travels”, adds Matt.
Happy Boxing Day! I have just posted a new blog on what we are doing now we have sold our home, our plans for the future now the boys are out of school and where we are going. It’s all in there. I have been having so many questions about why we are selling everything , and where we are moving to … I’ve put it all into my blog. Link is in my bio. Thank you all for the support you give me and my family. The comments and messages mean so much. Hope you are all having a wonderful Boxing Day. #mytribe #family #travel #lifeontheroad #adventure #thegreatoutdoors #motherofboys
Starting this month, their lives of travelling debuts with a trip to Sweden. They have hired more people to aid them in the running of their business while they are busy flying the world. By March this year, they’d be a fully blown Travel Influencer family!
We don’t know what will happen, but we do know if we didn’t do this we would always regret it.
So with just a bagpack each, watch the Goodings take over the world!!!
