It’s a terrible season to live in Malibu-California, as the entire city have been forced to evacuate due to wildfires. For now, a total of 31 deaths have been recorded, and property worth millions of dollars have been lost. Celebrities are also not off the hook, as over 10 Hollywood stars have had their homes burnt down to ashes. Some of which include Kim Kardashian West, Lady Gaga and Orlando Bloom.
In times like these, living in California is not so amazing as it should be. The whole city of Malibu, a popular celebrity hotspot, has been put under a mandatory evacuation order. So far, multiple homes are reported to have been burnt in Westlake Village and Oak Park, with the Woolsey fire now estimated to have spread to over 35,000 acres!
In fact, this year’s wildfires have been announced as one of the deadliest ever. “The Butte County sheriff announced that the death toll in and around the Sierra town had reached 29, matching the largest recorded number of deaths in modern California history from a single fire”, NY Times reports. An alarming 6,453 homes have been destroyed.
Top Celebrities also had their own share of the dangerous fires
Some celebrities are also reported to have lost properties to these fires. Reality star Kim Kardashian, actress Alyssa Milano, and director Guillermo del Toro were among them.
Kim Kardashian West, who lived in a neighborhood in Calabasas, with her husband, Kanye West, rushed to her home in Hidden Hills to gather her belongings and evacuate. She says in an Instagram story that she only had an hour to pack belongings.
Caitlyn Jenner, former Olympic champion and LGBT activist, is safe but experienced some damage due to fires. Lady Gaga also fled her home early in the morning. Then she posted an Instagram photo showing thick smoke heading towards her estate.
Alyssa Milano, a Hollywood actress said that she grabbed her kids, dogs and Dr. Martens boots, while tweeting severally about the fate of her five horses.
“Horses are finally safe. My children are safe. My home is in jeopardy but… everything with a heartbeat is safe. Thank you all for your concern,” she tweeted on Friday.

I was able to catch this video before having to leave… I just watched so many people in tears from losing their everything in life that they’ve built. In a split second, just like that… GONE! My backyard just went up in flames & it’s spreading fast… I just wanna say that I’ve discovered we don’t treat our firemen royal enough, nor do we pay them enough for what they endure. I’m thankful for the work that you all do! Send some prayers up for the people today, it’s needed. ❤️🌹
Thankfully, there have been no reports of death, on the side of celebrities. Let’s keep California in prayers as they go through these tough times.
