Chinese Influencer trolled for travelling with fairy lights

Another day, another troll. The hunger games continue on Instagram as this time, travel influencer, Harimao Lee, gets her share of the troll pie. On her flight to Rome– in a business class cabin, Lee posted a photo which has raised attention. In this photo, she has a blanket–wrapped around with fairy lights, over her legs!

If any of us had the chance to fly business class, we definitely would be posting photos everywhere! However, Harimao is facing trolls for doing just that. Why? Because instead of packing the usual snacks, a good book a neck pillow or even a face mask, Lee went with fairy lights! She really went with an accessory to make the interior of Cathy Pacific’s business class cabin look ‘better’. Ha!

Truly, the world of Instagram influencers works a little differently from the everyday person. Harimao, for instance, regularly updates her 127,000 followers with gorgeous photos of her on luxurious trips. Plus, photographers will go to any length to take the perfect shot for social media.
Obviously, the fairy lights were there to enhance the lighting. However, to most people, this was wayyy overboard.

Ms Lee’s photo was not welcomed kindly on the gram- it was one bad comment after the other

Although posted about a month ago, Lee is not off the hook. For some reason, users have now noticed the photo and are going off in the comments section.

“What the actual f**k? Who in their right mind brings fairy lights on a plane?”, an angry user wrote. “This is ridiculous! This sort of staged nonsense is a joke. Nobody travels like this!!”, another added. “You claim to be an ‘influencer’ but stage the f**k outta every photo”, “I always bring fairy lights and sit in the footrest when I travel business class, don’t you? 🤣🤣🤣”, and it could go on and on.

Others were more bothered about her sitting direction. Apparently, she was seated the wrong way too!

“She’s sitting in the seat backwards,” aviation expert Scott Bateman‏ pointed out. “Clearly she has never flown business class before she is sitting wrong side of the seat”, another follower barked. Even travel bloggers weighed in. “Travel writer Cynthia Drescher‏ said: ‘Awful lot of effort to make an already great seat (J, CX 77W) look Insta-glam. (She’s sitting backwards/in the footwell, brought fairy lights, and has vacant side stare (at what?) down pat),'” News AU reported.

Nevertheless, some thought it was a great photo technique

“I love this photo. Don’t have to follow what other people are doing. Haters are always going to be haters in my opinion they need to get a life. You enjoy holiday the way you want it weather you pack fairy lights to make it more romantic or more fairytale like. It looks Dreamy xx”, a supportive user wrote. “This photo is gorgeous and for people complaining about this picture, get your heads out of your arses, obviously it’s staged, that’s Instagram, if this picture is too ridiculous for you then hop on back to facebook”, another added.

“Hong Kong-based influencer Harimao Lee described the photo as having a, “fancy setup” in his behind-the-scenes Instagram story from the flight, but apart from that hasn’t acknowledged the reaction surrounding the photo” TravelNine.com said.

But guess “No publicity is bad publicity” as the photo has garnered almost 16,000 likes so far!
