A popular British mom blogger, Clemmie Hooper, has just admitted to creating a false identity. The mother of four, who runs the mega Instagram account @mother_of_daughters, said this in a series of Insta stories. There are also rumors of Clemmie using the account to troll her fellow influencer friends. However, she claims she only did all this to defend her reputation.

Clemmie says she became too entangled in the negativity
Out of nowhere, 34-year-old mom blogger, Clemmie Hooper is apologizing for her wrongs.
The influencer revealed she created a fake account to defend herself and leave negative comments about others online. It’s even been rumored that Hooper allegedly bashed her influencer friends and her own husband!
It is believed the user ‘AliceInWanderLust’ on influencer gossip forum Tattle Life, was the fake account. Meanwhile this site recently came under fire for encouraging bullying.
She took to Instagram stories today to confirm this to her 670,000+ followers.

In the statement, Clemmie revealed the trolling she had experienced led her to set up the account
Hooper explained that seeing many people say negative things about her and her lifestyle pushed her to doing it.
“Earlier this year, I became aware of a website that had thousands of comments about my family and I. Reading them made me feel extremely paranoid and affected me much more than I knew at the time,” her post began.
“I decided without telling anyone else that I would make an anonymous account so that this group of people would believe I was one of them, so that I could maybe change their opinions from the inside to defend my family and I”
However, the plan did not go too smoothly as users began suspecting who she really was. This made Hooper take things further to say those hurtful things to her peers.
And according to reports, one such comment saw Clemmie calling her husband a “class A t**t” — just to cover her tracks.
Suspicions grew further and the mother of daughters had to come clean
According to Mirror UK, more people grew curious about who was behind the account and through Instagram, the blogger was found out!
“She was caught when both she and her alias revealed they were in St Lucia at the same time,” the publication wrote.
“Clemmie was forced to tell the very friends she’d been slating that she was behind the cruel jibes – but begged them not to expose her publicly”

“Engaging in this was a huge mistake. I regret it all and am deeply sorry – I know this has caused a lot of pain.”
The entire charade went on for close to a year and many are displeased about it
As soon as the declaration was made, some influencers and users came out to express their disappointment.
One notable comment was from Laura Rutherford, known as @that_mummy_smile. She called out ‘Alice’ in a separate post.

Her lengthy caption read,
“Dear Alice, I don’t owe it to you to remain quiet. You’ve goaded and encouraged trolls to tear my reputation apart for the last 8mths. Mine and a handful of other influencers- and for what gain?”
“For so long I’ve had to grin and bear the derogatory comments, the angst of what people think of me, where the malice has come from. You’ve looked me in the eye and asked me how I’m doing when I’ve been at my lowest. How dare you?”
Another influencer, Bethie Hungerford, known as Hungermama wrote;
“I’ve been debating all day what to do and say about getting trolled and bullied by a friend of mine online. This person has admitted to the bullying to all of the friends she has tried to spread rumours about online… it’s not whether or not this has happened – it’s that it has and she refuses to take responsibility for her actions.”
Other regular users also joined the bandwagon.
“Disgusting! What she has done is beyond belief!,” one wrote. “Shocked to hear this and what’s been going on,” another added.
Moreover, this isn’t the first time Clemmie Hooper has faced some controversy. Last year, she deleted her Instagram after being accused of commercializing her children.
