Jaclyn has been under fire since her first ever cosmetic branch launched

Her personal Instagram and Twitter accounts have disappeared into thin air!

Jaclyn Hill is one of the biggest beauty influencers to rise from Youtube. She has close to 5.1M subscribers, and an average of 360,000 views a day on her videos. It is estimated that she earns $14.75k a month from the platform.

With so much internet success and built up trust, it was easy for the influencer to break out with her very own cosmetic line.

“The first collection was made up of twenty $18 nude lipsticks and reportedly sold out within days of the launch”

However, Jaclyn run out of luck on this move. Many who ordered her products had nothing but bad reviews about them. One person even claimed she got cut by a sharp object found in the lipstick.

The beauty influencer apologized and promised a refund

At first, Jaclyn blamed shipping and handling for the defective products. But after people started showing photos of lipsticks with hair and metal balls in them, she had to act right.

The star released a video on Youtube, explaining the possible causes of impurities found. She said the black dots were caused by oxygen bubbles, the lumps from the mixing of the product not being thorough enough and the white fuzz from the sanitary cotton gloves the lab workers wore.

In addition, Hill sent a heartfelt apology via her Insta Stories, assuring buyers of a refund, and a vow to do better next time.

“I felt so much pressure and panic to get a video up…I have made the decision to give every single person who purchased one of my lipsticks a full refund”

“I’m going to be issuing a full refund, including shipping and tax, to every single customer from Jaclyn Cosmetics,” she said on her now defunct Instagram account.

“I don’t care about the loss of this money. You know how embarrassing this is for me. I will do everything in my power to make this right moving forward and learn from this lesson God has given me.”

Jaclyn’s mother spoke on the reason for her daughter’s decision to leave social media

So far, the cosmetic brand’s Instagram is still active. But Robin Sumrall, the influencer’s mother, shared a note on her account, stating that Hill ‘needed time’ off.

“As her Mom it has been heartbreaking in so many ways,” she says in the beginning of the note.

“It was difficult and so very disappointing enough that some of her lipsticks had issues but the onslaught of hate, lies and even betrayal has by far been the worse part. It has been shocking.”

“No one deserves to be beaten when they are already sad and down. But this post is not intended to focus on the negative but rather the positivity that has come out of this. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank those of you who are true and loyal followers and friends of Jaclyn! I’ve always said that she has the very best followers of all!”

Jaclyn Hill, beauty guru, leaves social media following cosmetic brand failure

Meanwhile, on the side of fans and followers, the reactions have been mixed.

Some think the Youtube star only left social media to ‘conveniently’ avoid addressing the matter. Others think it’s most likely to restore her well-being and take care of her mental health.

“Where’s my refund?? ugh what the fuck this company sucks”, one person wrote. “Sent three emails nothing back”, another complained.

“Keep deleting my comments asking about my refund, I’m recording all of this as i type and comment to show and prove on my YouTube page that you guys are indeed deleting comments or paying people to report them so they’ll be deleted. Jaclyn will be exposed even more for the shady person that she is, this is personal now”, an enraged follower said.

On the other side of the spectrum, some people are showing support for the beauty guru.

I’m just commenting in hopes that you can let Jaclyn know I’m praying for her. 🙏🏼 I don’t know what’s going on really but no one deserves to go through this”

Another follower wrote, “So sad that people are coming for Jaclyn and her brand with fire and pitchforks. I can’t imagine how tiring this must be for the JHC team. Thank you for replying to everyone’s comments…100% support if she comes back or doesn’t come back, you do you boo.”

For now, we can only wait for Jaclyn’s own statement.
