Olivia Jade–Teen Influencer in ‘college admission bribery’ scandal

Olivia Jade, 19 year old daughter of actress Lori Loughlin, is trending for the wrong reasons. It turns out the teen influencer, who said she wasn’t ‘interested’ in college, does not deserve to be there in the first place? A new scandal involving her parents suggest that they ‘paid the way’ for her to be enrolled in the university. And now, some brands who work with Olivia have started to pull out!

Uh-oh, looks like someone is in big trouble!

Recent reports have named actress Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, as part of fifty suspects in a college admissions bribery scandal. More specifically, these charges state that the two paid a sum of $250,000 to a ‘false’ non-profit organisation, to help admit Olivia to the University of Southern California.

The Key Worldwide Foundation, upon accepting this, got her admitted–as a recruit for the school’s crew team.

Although Olivia was not an active in the school ‘crew’, she’s been active on her super successful Youtube channel. With almost 2M subscribers, Olivia blogs about everything — especially beauty. Her social media fame has bagged her a lot of deals including a partnership with top cosmetic brand, Sephora.

Now with this scandal, Jade is in hot waters and her past is being probed into!

Olivia Jade once made a Youtube video declaring she ‘did not care about college’

To make matters worse for the influencer, a Youtube video she posted half a year ago has come back into light.

In this video, the teenager said emphatically that she was only in school to ‘party’.

“I do want the experience of like game days, partying … I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know.”

“I don’t know how much of school I’m gonna attend but I’m gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone, and hope that I can try and balance it all”

Of course she apologized for these comments and deleted the video, but the internet never forgets.

Brands that have previously worked with Jade have started withdrawing deals

As if this was not enough, some brands Olivia advertised have begun pulling out.

According to a publication by Variety.com, HP is the first to cut ties.

“In a statement, the company said, ‘HP worked with Lori Loughlin and Olivia Jade in 2017 for a one-time product campaign. HP has removed the content from its properties'”.

Also, there are other brands who might be considering a cut. For instance, she’s worked with Amazon, Dolce & Gabbana, Lulus, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Sephora, Smashbox Beauty Cosmetics, among others.

Nevertheless, the case is still ongoing and we are not sure of what the future holds. What we do know, though, is that her parents had also allegedly paid another $250,000 to get their older daughter, Isabella, admitted in the same school.

Both parents recently appeared in court and were each released on $1 million bail.

And as for Olivia, there has been no comment so far. However, you’d hear it here first if she ever speaks out 😉
