Pete Davidson is done with social media– for good this time

Pete Davidson, American comedian and actor, has finally axed social media from his life. The Wild’n Out star has also explained why he’s leaving. In a sitdown at Sundance Film Festival with Variety.com, he said that social media ‘doesn’t make him very happy’. He added that he doesn’t spend a whole lot of time online in general.

First of all, Pete is in rehab. Yup, comedian signed in to rehab recently, owing to his drug use. Then soon after, he decided to quit social media. But many have been wondering why Pete left. Some linked it to his recent ‘abrupt’ breakup with fiancée, Ariana Grande.

So, in a recent interview with Variety, the actor explained it all.

“Just don’t go online,” he said.“It doesn’t make me very happy. Even if it’s not about me, it’s random s— like, ‘Trump farts.’ I’m not a fan of it.”

However, he did not totally brush off the Ariana factor. Pete added that he quit Instagram for “for obvious reasons,” which lead straight to Miss Ari.

Pete Davidson is done with social media– for good this time!

Moreover, in December last year, it seems that social media trolls had gotten the best of him. He wrote on Twitter;

“I’ve kept my mouth shut,” Davidson wrote. “Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything. I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference.”

Two weeks later, he tweeted something ‘scary’. In the tweet, he stated that he didn’t want to be on earth anymore.

It was after this tweet that his boss, Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, sought professional help for Pete.

“I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference.”

Pete Davidson now seems like a ‘New Man’

It looks like rehab, and a break from social media, has done Pete some good so far. The actor looks healthier and much happier. In addition, at the Sundance Festival, a new movie he starred in– “Big Time Adolescence”, was premeried.

“The film is described as a “coming of age” tale, where a high school teen (played by Griffin Gluck) makes friends with a college dropout (played by Davidson),” Complex.com reports.

Hopefully, Pete goes up the ladder from this win!
