Australian influencer, Sally Mustang, has shared an emotional video following her ban from Instagram. On the grounds of “sexual content”, the influencer was booted off the social media platform. This comes right after Sally shared news of her pregnancy, posting shots of her baby bump.
Sally is devastated about losing her account
Sally Mustang is an influencer no doubt — Instagram is her business. On the platform, she sells her artwork, yoga sessions and is an advocate for sexual freedom. So it’s more than just presence, it’s a livelihood.
And on her Instagram, Sally’s often posting ‘racy’ shots with her partner Mitch — but that’s no surprise coming from someone who believes ‘sex is art’.
She recently announced that she is pregnant, and reportedly posted an equally ‘intimate’ photo of her bump on the platform. However, days later, she woke up to her 300,000 follower account gone — supposedly for containing ‘sexual content’.!
“It makes my heart so sore. I’m really scared. I’m five months pregnant and my whole livelihood has disappeared”, she lamented in a video posted on a new account. Mustang further explained the photo was not in violation of Instagram’s no nipple policy as her hands were completely covering her chest.
“My whole livelihood has disappeared. It’s my creative outlet. It’s my memories. My voice, my community, my family, my businesses”
Since they had been sharing such content for the longest time, it seems to be Sally’s pregnant body that triggered the ban, or so they believe.
“I’m so, so disappointed in whoever’s running the show there because I just don’t understand what kind of message that sends out; that Instagram doesn’t accept pregnant bodies? Or that being empowered and loving yourself if not ok?”
Sally Mustang’s partner, Mitch, showed support for her
It didn’t take long for Sally’s video to also be taken off the gram. In fact, the new account @i.am.sally.mustang no longer exists!
Mitch however posted a snippet of the video on his Instagram, which has more than 216,000 followers. Even with that, Sally explained that his account “was threatened to be shut down this morning so we are just going to be super easy going”.

Nevertheless, this has not silenced the couple at all. Mitch supported Sally in a since deleted comment. He wrote;
“It’s a beautiful photo which tributes the miracle of pregnancy, new life and what it is to be a woman.”
“It’s NOT sexual. It’s beautiful and I don’t want that aspect of life taken away from what I experience on your platform”
“I want to be aloud [sic] to follow any women’s experience of pregnancy because it inspires me, it educates me, it helps me see a bigger picture,” Mitch added.

“Pregnancy should be celebrated, not shamed and we want to see change,” he concluded.
