Teen Influencer charged for ‘splurging’ with stolen credit card

A teen influencer, Christian Aaron, is being charged with identity theft and credit card fraud. Police say the 184K IG star not only stole the card, but spent with it lavishly. Trips to Hawaii, $19,000 worth of Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana bags and more. His motive was “to keep up the online persona he has crafted for himself and to get likes on social media,” prosecutors said. However, the 19-year-old has since denied the allegations.

Christian is in so much trouble if found guilty

Social media leads many astray, in order to keep up!

Christian Aaron, an Instagram star, is now facing a possible 7-year jail time, for impersonating, and using that person’s credit card to shop. According to the police, he allegedly opened a line of credit, which he then used to rack up $19,000 of debt!

The woman, named Lisa Caldararo, reported the event in December 2017. And through gradual investigations, police have now identified Aaron as the culprit. They added that some of the items he splurged on included fashion accessories from Chanel, Agent Provocateur, and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as a trip to Hawaii.

Interestingly, the teen influencer is pleading not guilty to these eight charges of felony identity theft and grand larceny. But other reports reveal that he’s been behind bars for close to 3 weeks now!

He has nearly 200,000 followers and his lifestyle isn’t cheap!

With 184,000 IG followers and 42,000 Youtube subscribers, Christian is one who flaunts an expensive life on the gram.

“The teen frequently shares pictures of himself posing next to sports cars, vacationing in luxurious places, and holding bottles of Champagne or cocktails,” INSIDER wrote.

During this alleged vacation to Hawaii, Aaron stayed at the four-star Aulani Disney Resort & Spa in Kapolei, prosecutors claim. While still on vacay, he and an unnamed accomplice, apparently called Lisa’s bank — impersonating her, and having two replacement credit cards sent to them.

“Aaron also allegedly tried going on a $31,000 shopping spree on The RealReal, an online luxury consignment shop, but the orders were canceled by the retailer before the items shipped”, New York Post added.

Prosecutors have blamed the teenager’s crimes on the need to ‘fit in’ on social media.

“This was an act of greed… to keep up the online persona he has crafted for himself and to get likes on social media”

“As with all of the financial crimes our office investigates and prosecutes, this was an act of greed, but this defendant wasn’t just after money; he committed these crimes in part to keep up the online persona he has crafted for himself and to get likes on social media,” Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini said.

Meanwhile Christian’s father, David Tyler Aaron, is still in shock over allegations.

“He’s a very good kid. I can’t imagine he would be tied up in any of this stuff”

“He comes from a good family. It’s a shame these allegations are being made. He has to have his day in court,” his dad said.
