Tupi Saravia, blogger, finally admits to photoshopping her images

It’s not everyday you see an influencer admitting their wrongs. And today’s not one of those days! Although Tupi Saravia, Argentine travel influencer, is owning up to digitally enhancing her photos before sharing, she sees nothing wrong. This comes after several users noticed that the clouds in her images looked the same every time.

“I really don’t see the big deal [here], I never lied about it,” Tupi declared

Tupi Saravia is an influencer from Buenos Aires in Argentina, who shares with her 292,000 Instagram followers incredible photos of her travels around the world.

But she had her biggest trend yesterday, when suspicions, and screenshots of her unchanging ‘cloud backdrop’ went viral on social media.

The first to share was Twitter user @SantiLishi, who tweeted;
“No matter where you travel, it is always followed by the same cloud,” along with a selection of photos of Saravia in various destinations with the exact same cloud formation behind her.

Then followed, social media commentator Matt Navarra, who tweeted;

“This travel ‘influencer’ spookily has the same clouds in every photo,” with photos of Tupi in Thailand and Italy.

It went viral instantly, accruing over 6,000 retweets and 21,000 likes in 24 hours.

Tupi reached out to BuzzFeed News — and she couldn’t deny

After jokes of her had flown around enough, the travel blogger came clean.

“I can’t believe how far this went,” Tupi wrote via email to BuzzFeed News with laughing-crying emojis.

“I used an app called Quickshot to help the composition of the photograph when the sky is burned or overexposed.”

“They were always aware about this because I never hide it”

Saravia said she tends to use the same cloud patterns from the app, even though there are several other options with different patterns. “I just happened to like that one,” she said.

“If she lied about this, I wonder what she lied about too” — users reacted

Although Tupi Saravia seemingly came clean, some people weren’t buying it.

“This really bums me out. There’s so many people who want what she has: a fabricated online reality,” someone wrote.

“Why we end here on social media!? Faking all the photos!? I can point other users doing this, as a photographer I can’t stand this,” another user said.

“She’s able to influence consumers and weather patterns”

“Oh, the integrity of influencers…” another person complained.
