Valeria Lyubarskaya: Blogger criticized for asking drivers to run over stray animals

A Russian blogger with over 860,000 followers has sparked an outrage among her audience. Valeria Lyubarskaya, who focuses on fashion & lifestyle, explicitly said drivers should continue driving whenever they saw a stray animal. In her defense, the life of humans is more important than that of the animal. But her advice was sore in the ears of many.

“The life of a stray animal is not worth the life of a human being”, Valeria said

Valeria Lyubarskaya, who also boasts of an impressive 1.3 million YouTube subscribers, shared these views after her boyfriend abruptly stopped when a stray dog appeared in front of the car they were riding in.

“We were driving along the motorway and suddenly a stupid dog ran into the road,” she told her followers on Twitter. “My boyfriend reacted badly and slammed on the brakes. The dog managed to run away unscathed.”

She added that they were lucky enough to be the only ones on the road — otherwise it’d have been a tragedy. That was when the blogger implied that a human life far outweighs that of an animal’s, and if encountered with such a choice on the road, choose yours.

“Dear drivers, remember that if any creature appears on the road while you are driving, especially if there are lots of cars around, just run over it. Do you understand that?”

“The life of a stray animal is not worth the life of a human being….One last time, remember, if animals are on the road, you continue driving. Do not hit the brakes”, she said.

“Yes, you may feel sorry afterwards, for sure. But your life is a lot more valuable. A lot more valuable,” Valeria concluded.

Ouuh the outrage this caused

One angry follower left a horrible comment, saying drivers should kill Valeria instead.

“Dear drivers, remember, if you see Lyubarskaya on the road, run her over. She is not worth the life of a human being.”

Others were simply ashamed of their favorite blogger’s comments. “You have no love for animals and it shows,” one wrote. ”

“I feel shame for following you. How can you say such horrible things?,” another added.

One person also said Valeria Lyubarskaya was being unfair because the animals “do not know they’re on the road.”

Meanwhile, another follower sided with the blogger, writing, “Everything she says is correct. That is what every motorist learns at driving school.”
